What is relative strength in simple words

Relative strength is the ability of an asset to perform better than the market.

If BTC falls and alt stands still, this is strength. If TOTAL3 decreases and the alt holds the level, this is strength. If the market is growing and the alt is standing, this is weakness. If BTC gives a plus, but the alt cannot even break through the local structure, this is also a weakness.

A strong asset is not necessarily always green. A strong asset is one that holds up better than others in a bad phase and reacts faster in a good one.
